Marco Timpano is an actor, writer, director, producer and now podcaster. His work has seen him travel across the globe. With a degree in Broadcast Journalism & Linguistics, Marco has blended both with a strong approach to his career, and garnered attention from critics and fans a like always with a great sense of humour. Below are some highlights in his extensive career thus far.
Actor – Having received critical attention for the role of Howie in the Toronto Premier of David Lindsay Abaire's Rabbit Hole. Marco won a Canadian Comedy Award for his portrayal of Eileen Louise Kennedy in his show entitled 'One Woman Show’. Marco has portrayed historic figures; Adalberto Marino and Justice Riddell in two historical dramas. He continues to act in film, tv, digital media and commercials.
Podcaster - With 2 successful podcast and a third on the way, Marco wastes no time creating content that fans seem to love. His "The Insomnia Project" has been helping insomniacs like himself find their way to blissful sleep since 2016. If you are someone who dreams of travel or are and avid globetrotter, this 10 minute comedic, travel-challenge will be up your alley: "Every Place Is The Same" is hosted by Daniela Vlaskalic and produced and directed by Timpano.
Writer – Currently writing for the series; "Vito's Basement" based on his character Vito Cazzolungo. Marco together with his wife Amanda Barker, have written the short; "Harper Puppet Pals". Previously, a senior writer on the nationally syndicated comedy show: “Out There with Melissa Di Marco”. Marco also co-wrote the award winning play "One Woman Show". His writings have appeared the international magazine COLORS. You may have already seen his writing in various commercials, tv and digital media.
Comedian – Winner of the 2009 Canadian Comedy Award for Best One Person show. Winner of the Steam Whistle Producers’ Pick Award for his work in the sketch troupe Shame Is Right! Pick of the Fringe winner. Marco has performed at The Los Angeles Comedy Festival, The Chicago Improv Festival, the Atlantic Fringe festival, Toronto Fringe festival. He worked for The Second City as an improvisor and sketch performer. He has also received critical attention for his unabashed character Vito Cazzolungo and has raised thousands of dollars for charity as this witty and frank persona.
Director - Currently directing the comedic travel podcast: "Every Place Is The Same", he also has directed theatrical and digital films.
Journalist – Graduating sum cum laude from a Radio and TV Arts program with a focus on Broadcast Journalism, has seen Marco host and produce a radio show for over a decade. Having interviewed hundreds of people as the entertainment reporter his most memorable have been: Madonna, Eric Clapton, Pavarotti, Stanley Tucci, Whoppi Goldberg, and Gena Rowlands.
Instructor – Marco has been working with teens, adults and the corporate world, training them in Improvisation ,Stand-up Comedy and for film and tv auditions with a high rate of success.
Translator – Fluent in Italian, Marco has translated various projects including websites, plays that was an off-Broadway hit (Il Giardino/The Garden) and TV and Film. He also has coached various actors for Italian specific roles and as a dramaturge for projects that centered around Italian culture and characters.
Hand Model – Yes a skill that he and George Costanza have that in common! Marco’s hands have been featured in both National and International commercials and print. His skills as a calligrapher and black jack dealer have also been featured in both films and TV
Emcee/Commentator – For four years in a row, Marco was co-commentator for the Canadian Culuninary Federation’s Junior Chef Competition. As well as for a sleuth of companies that desired a strong, pleasant and entertaining voice and persona to represent their message and or product.
